About this page
This Legal Information page summarises important notices about how Spacemate operates. It supplements — and does not replace — our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If there is a conflict, the Privacy Policy or Terms (as applicable) prevails.
Platform operator
www.spacemate.ng is operated by Spacemate Company, a company incorporated in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Spacemate is a curated home-furnishings marketplace serving buyers and verified vendors across Nigeria, with Design tools to help plan purchases room by room.
Your relationship with us
Depending on how you use the platform, you interact with Spacemate as:
- Buyer — you purchase goods from vendors (or Holms house products where identified). Spacemate facilitates checkout, escrow, and disputes.
- Vendor — you list and sell products subject to onboarding, moderation, commission, and payout rules.
- Vendor manager — you refer and support vendors under our manager programme and applicable revenue-share terms.
- Visitor — you browse without an account, subject to this notice and our Privacy Policy.
Payments and escrow notice
Spacemate uses third-party payment processing (Paystack). We hold buyer funds in escrow until order conditions are met. Escrow protects buyers and vendors but does not make Spacemate a bank or licensed deposit-taker. Payout timing depends on delivery, dispute windows, and compliance checks.
Holms house collection
Holms is Spacemate’s own house collection. Where a product is sold by Holms, Spacemate (not an independent vendor) is the contracting seller unless the product page states otherwise.
Content and listing moderation
We may review, approve, reject, or remove vendor applications, product listings, reviews, and other content to protect buyers and the integrity of the marketplace. Moderation decisions are exercised in our reasonable discretion.
Data protection and regulatory compliance
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data-protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and NDPR 2019.
Vendors and managers are independently responsible for complying with laws applicable to their own businesses (including tax, consumer protection, and product safety).
Third-party services
The platform integrates with third-party services (payment, shipping, email, hosting, and analytics). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.
Legal and regulatory notices
Formal legal notices to Spacemate should be sent to support@spacemate.ng with the subject line “Legal notice”.
We may update this page when our business practices or legal requirements change. Check the “Last updated” date before relying on it.
